From January to June of 2019, more Americans bought trucks and crossovers than any other vehicle. This confirms our love for larger vehicles as opposed to compact automobiles. In some cases, Americans bought trucks for work; in other cases, the crossover remains a popular family car. No matter what, Ford topped the list, beating out Dodge and Chevrolet.

According to Business Insider, three American-made vehicles took the top three spots in the first half of 2019. Two Japanese makes and models rounded out the top five. This shows that Americans wanted to shop domestic the first six months of 2019, although Japanese automobile manufacturing remains popular due to its affordability and reliability. Still, People are buying crossover SUVs and trucks by the millions in the States, which likely helped Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet take the top three spots over Japanese and European competitors.

Ford also put its V6, EcoBoost engine under the hood.

Finally, the interior offered spacious, comfortable seating for up to six passengers and an “infotainment” system that rivaled most luxury automobiles.
