Top Five Diesel Trucks for 2020

As our name suggests, United Diesel Repair knows all things diesel. We love diesel truck engines and are a full-service diesel automotive shop. The year 2020 has been troubling so far, so let’s take a moment to have some fun and explore the top five diesel trucks released in 2020, according to U.S. News & World Report. Here’s what they think is best, and we tend to agree. These trucks are awesome!

2020 Dodge Ram 1500

Dodge built the first muscle car, and they spare no muscle in their Ram truck line, either. The 2020 Ram 1500 comes with an EcoDiesel V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and has a 480 lb/ft torque rating. The automatic transmission uses eight speeds, perfect for when you’re towing the 12,560-pound capacity, and the power train is smooth and responsive. You won’t know you’re driving a diesel.

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500

Chevy comes in second with its Silverado 1500. This impressive truck produces 277 horsepower and 460 lb/ft of torque from the V6 turbo-diesel engine. The 2020 Silverado 1500 can haul up to 9,300 pounds, and the automatic transmission is a 10-speed to ensure you always have plenty of power. This truck also gives your passengers plenty of space for a comfortable ride.

2020 GMC Sierra 1500

General Motors makes the top five list with its Sierra 1500. Under the hood, you’ll find a turbo-diesel V6 engine (3.0 liters) that produces 277 horses and a 460 lb/ft torque rating capable of towing 9,000 pounds. Many people consider the Sierra 1500 Chevy Silverado’s twin; both have a 10-speed automatic transmission. You’ll find your GMC Sierra 1500 great to handle, with fast, smooth acceleration.

2020 GMC Canyon

If you’re looking for something a little smaller, the 2020 GMC Canyon might be the perfect diesel truck for you. The Canyon can tow 7,700 pounds with its 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine. This engine can produce torque at 369 pounds-per-foot and 181 horsepower. If gas mileage is a concern, the GMC Canyon offers solid fuel economy at 20 mpg for city driving and 30 mpg when driving on the highways.

2020 Chevrolet Colorado

Finally, the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado produces 369 lb/ft of torque and 181 horsepower from a turbocharged engine the same size as the GMC Canyon’s engine. This, too, is a smaller diesel truck perfect for those who only need to tow 7,700 pounds or fewer. The Colorado also offers drivers 20 mpg when driving city streets and 30 mpg on the highways. It’s comfortable, too.

No matter which diesel truck you decide to purchase from the list, let United Diesel maintain and repair it. Our shop is in Flowery Branch, GA, and we are your local diesel experts.
