What Does ASE-Certified Really Mean?

Literally, ASE stands for Automotive Service Excellence; figuratively, it means that you can count on your auto mechanic to be the best in his or her business. This is why we here at United Diesel Repair only employ ASE-certified automotive technicians. We want you to know that you can rely on us for all of your diesel repair needs. You can also count on us for preventative maintenance services to keep your diesel running as it should be. We are Cummins, Dodge Duramax, and Ford Power Stroke diesel experts.

Backed By a Nonprofit Organization

The ASE-certification program is a national program run by the nonprofit organization National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. This program does not gain anything by testing and certifying auto mechanics; it isn’t for-profit. Its mission is to ensure consumers can find auto service shops staffed with mechanics and specialists certified to be excellent in their field. This helps maintain trust in the auto service industry and boosts consumer confidence. It also makes finding a qualified mechanic easier.

Testing Weeds Out Unqualified Mechanics

The ASE certification testing is some of the hardest in the United States. This testing assesses the competence of individual mechanics. The auto technicians attend extensive training classes or conduct their own private study before being tested. Even better? The testing is voluntary, not mandatory, which means auto mechanics who seek ASE certification not only take their jobs seriously but also strive to be the best in their business. The test is not for the faint of heart, and unqualified mechanics avoid it.

ASE Certification Levels

There are different levels of ASE certification a mechanic can reach. Passing the general exam and fulfilling the work experience requirements will give an auto mechanic an ASE-Certified status. Those who wish to obtain an ASE Master Technician status must take a battery of tests and fulfill the work experience requirements. ASE tests cover the gamut of auto repairs, including engine repair, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension, brakes, parts specialization, and even collision damage.

What This Means For You

When you combine all of the above, you realize that taking your diesel to a mechanic that chooses to be ASE-Certified gives you the peace of mind you deserve in your auto service maintenance and repairs. These mechanics go above and beyond their general training to get the excess knowledge and experience they need to be certified excellent. They are experts in their field and have plenty of experience under their belts to diagnose and repair vehicle trouble right the first time.

We are that here at United Diesel Repair in Flowery Branch, GA, so give us a call today for all of your diesel repair and service needs.
